VW Motor Sports India is launching the VW Ameo cup Touring championship race this year. With 20 drivers on board who will be trained and race in this 4 race weekend across 3 destination race tracks in India. The race program will comprise of 4 race weekends. The winner from this championship will be given an opportunity to showcase his or her skills in higher level formula series in India through driver exchange program internationally. The motorsport program will demonstrate Volkswagen’s motor racing spirit and will demonstrate superior build quality, reliability safety and excellent racing driving dynamics of their own built VW AMEO CUP car. This is a platform to promote young racers to showcase their talents in the international arena.

We are very proud to present Avik Anwar who would participate in this exciting racing event in India. Avik Anwar with his Canadian FIA approved racing licence has been engaged in the automotive scene of Bangladesh. He has been the champion of Rally Cross Motor sports for 3 times in a row in Bangladesh. Avik is also an avid car enthusiast and his family has also been in the automobile business for decades. He is the owner of Car House Limited, one of the largest reconditioned vehicle importer of our country.
Avik Anwar will represent Bangladesh in this championship and his achievement in the VW Ameo Cup 2017 will have a significant impact to our country’s image for the first time in the International motorsports arena. We wish him the best of luck in the 2017 VW Ameo cup. It is a proud moment for us all car enthusiasts to see one of our Bangladeshi born, car lover, race car driver, competing in India.
Now let’s get to know a bit about the car he would be driving in the Ameo Cup. The Volks Wagen Ameo has been developed in Pune Plant. It has a 1.8 ltr Turbo charged TSI petrol engine that produces 205 bhp at 6100rpm and 320Nm of torque. Power will be sent to the wheels by a 6 speed racing sequential gear box with steering mounted paddle shifters. The wheels will be 17inch with race tires developed by MRF. The brake rotors are 335mm in front and 232mm in the rear. The suspension of the car will be modified with 2 way KW Adjustable coil over dampers and 3 way rear torsion beam axle with 2 way adjustable KW rear dampers. The overall weight of the car is kept to 1150Kg.
