Setting Nürburgring records and creating hypes are not unusual for automakers all over the world. However, unlike others, Swedish giant Volvo kept silent over the its S60 Polestar setting a lap record at the ring last year.
After last year’s WTCC race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Cyan Racing team remained at the track to perform some testing and development to the road-going version of the S60 Polestar. During the development session, the S60 Polestar lapped the green hell in 7:51.110, which at that time was a record for fastest four-door around the track. Then the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV claimed the record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Spetember, last year.
According to the Swedish automaker, “Being Swedish, we didn’t want to shout about the record. Instead, the team just wanted to learn from the experience“
