The highly rated Pole, recently tested in Renault’s F1 simulator, team boss Frederic Vasseur has admitted.
Robert Kubica left the F1 scene in early 2011 following a rally crash, in which he sustained severe injuries to his right forearm. After a long haul of rehabilitation, Kubica returned to motorsport in the World Rally Championship in 2013. The 2008 Canadian GP winner recently made his circuit racing comeback in Renault Sport Trophy, and bagged a podium finish at Spa.
“We have a good working relationship with Robert. It is no secret that Robert has spent time in the simulator at Enstone for his return”, Renault Sport boss, Frederic Vasseur, said on Kubica’s strong performance at Spa.
